Ridhi Dogra Takes Center Stage in National Geographic India’s Travel Series ‘Postcards from Hong Kong’

National Geographic India is set to launch an exciting new travel series titled “Postcards from Hong Kong,” featuring actress Ridhi Dogra. The two-episode series aims to offer viewers a unique perspective of Hong Kong, moving beyond its iconic skyline to explore the city’s hidden gems. Premiering on March 28 at 8 PM on the National Geographic Channel, the series will also be available for streaming on JioHotstar.

Exploring Hong Kong’s Hidden Treasures

In “Postcards from Hong Kong,” Ridhi Dogra embarks on a journey that showcases both the well-known landmarks and the lesser-explored areas of the city. Produced by National Geographic Creative Works, the series highlights the stunning coastal landscapes, scenic hiking trails, and rich cultural experiences that define Hong Kong. Through her interactions with local guides and influencers, Ridhi brings to life the everyday experiences of the city’s residents.

The first episode takes viewers to serene and nature-focused destinations, including Sai Kung, Big Wave Bay, Dragon’s Back, Tai O, Ngong Ping, Po Lin Monastery, and the Tian Tan Buddha. This segment emphasizes a slower, more reflective side of Hong Kong, allowing audiences to witness Ridhi’s personal journey of travel and discovery.

The Energetic Pulse of the City

The second episode shifts gears to capture the vibrant energy of Hong Kong. With just 72 hours left in the city, Ridhi explores bustling areas like Causeway Bay and Happy Valley Racecourse. She also indulges in Michelin-recognized dining experiences and luxury shopping at Landmark. This episode encapsulates the fast-paced lifestyle that Hong Kong is renowned for, presenting a stark contrast to the tranquil scenes of the first episode.

Ridhi Dogra expressed her enthusiasm about the project, stating, “Being part of Postcards from Hong Kong with Nat Geo was a deeply enriching experience. What I love about this journey is that it goes beyond the obvious; it’s not just about the skyline or the speed of the city but about the stories that live in its quieter corners.” Her reflections highlight the immersive nature of her travels and the meaningful connections she made with the city.

A Collaborative Vision for Storytelling

A spokesperson from National Geographic India emphasized the series’ goal of exploring Hong Kong through a more intimate lens. “With Postcards from Hong Kong, we set out to go beyond the familiar and explore the city through a more intimate, human lens,” they stated. The collaboration with the Hong Kong Tourism Board aims to blend local insights with global storytelling, showcasing the city as a rich tapestry of culture, tradition, and unexpected experiences.

Puneet Kumar, Director for South Asia at the Hong Kong Tourism Board, added, “Postcards from Hong Kong is a reflection of meaningful storytelling that brings the city to life in an immersive way.” He expressed excitement about the series portraying a side of Hong Kong that many travelers have yet to discover, from scenic trails to vibrant local communities. The series promises to present a diverse and spirited view of the city, highlighting its unique charm.

The show also features experiences like watching the Symphony of Lights aboard Aqua Luna, alongside explorations of local cuisine and neighborhood spaces. This blend of travel, culture, and personal storytelling aims to captivate audiences and inspire future travelers to explore Hong Kong’s multifaceted identity.
