The Technology Development Board (TDB) under the Department of Science & Technology (DST) in India has announced financial backing for Matisoft Cyber Security Labs Pvt. Ltd. The funding supports a pivotal project aimed at creating an advanced open-source framework sanitization tool designed for facilitating secure data transfers between multiple air-gapped networks. The initiative seeks to enhance cybersecurity in highly sensitive sectors, particularly in defense and critical infrastructure.
Innovative Cybersecurity Solution for Air-Gapped Networks
The core objective of the project is to develop a specialized USB sanitization and data transfer control software that meets the stringent security requirements of organizations like the Indian Navy. This innovative system ensures that only verified, sanitized data can be transferred between isolated networks, substantially reducing risks associated with malware, unauthorized access, and zero-day cyber threats.
Comprehensive Technology Integration
The technology encompasses a suite of in-house cybersecurity capabilities, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR), and Content Disarm & Reconstruction (CDR). Together, these elements form a unified platform with seven core modules. These include centralized policy control, real-time threat monitoring, and automated updates. The integration of these features offers comprehensive protection by scanning and neutralizing potentially harmful content while safeguarding file usability.
Offline Functionality and Compliance
Designed specifically for air-gapped environments, this solution operates without internet connectivity, making it ideal for settings where traditional cloud-based security measures are impractical. It also maintains detailed audit logs, enforces strict USB usage policies, and ensures adherence to organizational cybersecurity protocols.
