Bharat Tribes Fest 2026: A Celebration of Tribal Artistry and Culture
The Bharat Tribes Fest 2026 is set to take center stage from March 18 to 30, 2026, at Sunder Nursery in New Delhi. Organized by the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED) in collaboration with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, this vibrant festival promises to showcase the rich tapestry of tribal artisanship, entrepreneurship, and cultural expression from every corner of India.
The event will kick off with an inauguration by Shri Jual Oram, the Hon’ble Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, along with Shri Durgadas Uikey, the Hon’ble Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, and other prominent dignitaries on the opening day.
A Hub for Cultural Exchange
Open daily from 11:00 AM to 08:00 PM, the fest aims to immerse visitors in the diverse traditions, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit of India’s tribal communities. Attendees can explore over 200 meticulously curated stalls, representing 78 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras (VDVKs) and featuring 310 master artisans. A highlight includes the “Forest-to-Plate” initiative, showcasing 120 diverse tribal cuisines and hosting 17 live demonstrations that reveal the intricate processes behind heritage crafts.
The festival will also see over 400 artists take the stage each evening to perform traditional dances and music, transforming the venue into a vibrant cultural celebration.
Business Conclave and Innovative Initiatives
Running alongside the festival, the Bharat Tribes Business Conclave will be held from March 19 to 27, 2026, serving as a platform for policymakers, industry leaders, and tribal enterprises. This segment will focus on high-level discussions around sustainable textiles, ethical luxury markets, and innovative solutions to protect indigenous knowledge. Key themes such as enhancing employment opportunities for tribal youth and women will be addressed, fostering a strong ecosystem for community-led tourism and enterprise development.
Another significant component is the CSR Conclave on March 24, 2026, aimed at forging long-lasting partnerships between corporate institutions and tribal entrepreneurs, leveraging Corporate Social Responsibility to create sustainable livelihoods.
The RISA Initiative: Melding Tradition with Contemporary Design
A standout aspect of the Bharat Tribes Fest 2026 is the RISA initiative, featuring collaborations between esteemed designers such as Ms. Anju Modi and Shri Manish Tripathi and tribal artisans. This project aims to blend modern design sensibilities with traditional crafts, incorporating indigenous textiles like Eri Silk, Kotpad Cotton, and Dongria Embroidery into the global fashion arena.
