UPSC Announces Results for Civil Services Examination 2025

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially released the results of the Civil Services Examination 2025, conducted in August. Following the written examination and subsequent personality tests held from December 2025 to February 2026, a total of 958 candidates have been recommended for various prestigious positions. These include appointments to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Central Services, among others.

The breakdown of recommendations highlights a diverse group of successful candidates, categorized by various reservations:

Candidate Breakdown

The comprehensive selection comprises:

  • General Category: 317 candidates (including 07 persons with benchmark disabilities in PwBD-1, 09 in PwBD-2, 06 in PwBD-3, and 06 in PwBD-5)
  • EWS: 104 candidates (including 01 in PwBD-2 and 01 in PwBD-5)
  • OBC: 306 candidates (including 03 in PwBD-1, 04 in PwBD-2, 03 in PwBD-3, and 01 in PwBD-5)
  • SC: 158 candidates (including 01 in PwBD-5)
  • ST: 73 candidates

This detailed listing reflects a strong commitment to enhancing representation across various demographics within the civil services.

Consolidated Reserve and Extended Lists

In addition to the main list, UPSC has maintained a consolidated reserve list of 258 candidates, which includes:

  • General: 129 candidates
  • EWS: 26 candidates
  • OBC: 86 candidates
  • SC: 08 candidates
  • ST: 06 candidates

Moreover, an extended list has also been established, adhering to the examination rules.

It is important to note that the claims of recommended candidates related to reservation statuses are still subject to verification. Currently, the candidature of 348 candidates remains provisional, and the results for two candidates are withheld.
