The couple acquired the property for a staggering Rs 31.5 crores, as revealed by property registration documents accessed through the analytics platform Zapkey. The newly acquired duplex is part of an upscale residential project named Legacy, situated in the affluent Teynampet neighborhood of Chennai. Spanning the fourth and fifth floors, the apartment boasts an impressive super built-up area of 14,369 square feet. Additionally, the property includes an undivided land share of 5,308 square feet. The transaction, valued at approximately Rs 21,946 per square foot, was officially registered in December of the previous year, with Landmark Metro Projects Private Limited listed as the seller.
Ownership of the property is split between the couple, with Nayanthara holding a significant 90 percent share, while Vignesh Shivan owns the remaining 10 percent. The apartment also features eight reserved covered parking spaces in the stilt parking area, as detailed in the registration documents.

This latest purchase adds to Nayanthara’s growing collection of real estate holdings across South India. Reports indicate that she owns several properties in cities like Chennai and Hyderabad, in addition to her ancestral home in Kerala, which is regarded as one of the most luxurious residences in the state.
