Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs Advances Citizen-Centric Governance
In alignment with the recently adopted “Seva Sankalp Resolution,” the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs (MoPA) convened a significant meeting on March 2, 2026. The meeting, chaired by the Secretary of MoPA, served as a platform for officers and officials to discuss essential guiding principles aimed at transforming governance in the country.
The session commenced with the reading of the “Seva Sankalp Resolution,” which sets the tone for a new paradigm in public administration. The Secretary urged all attendees to shift from a “sense of entitlement” to a more profound “sense of service.” He reiterated that the focus should remain firmly on the citizens, stating that every decision and action must be grounded in dedication, integrity, and a commitment to responsiveness.
Emphasizing Devotion in Governance
During his address, the Secretary emphasized the necessity of performing official duties with _shraddha bhaav_, or a spirit of sincerity and devotion. He encouraged the officers to approach their tasks in a way that will leave a lasting legacy within the institutions they serve.
Reflecting on Achievements
The meeting also served as a reflective moment where various achievements from the past 12 years were acknowledged. Discussions highlighted progress made toward the vision of Viksit Bharat, reinforcing the important structural changes and reforms currently underway across multiple government departments.
Commitment to Transparency and Accountability
Moreover, participants deliberated on critical themes such as enhancing transparency, ensuring accountability, and promoting timely disposal of tasks. Effective coordination among departments is also essential to fulfill both parliamentary and administrative responsibilities efficiently.
By the end of the meeting, the officers reiterated their commitment to upholding the values of _Seva_ and citizen-centric governance, as envisioned in the Resolution. The initiative aims to galvanize efforts towards achieving the ambitious goal of a Viksit Bharat, ensuring that public service is centered around the needs of the populace.
