Current Gold Prices: 22K and 24K Gold Rates in Delhi, Mumbai, and Other Cities

Gold prices soared on Monday as investors flocked to safe-haven assets amid escalating geopolitical tensions and trade uncertainties. The surge in gold and silver prices was driven by renewed unrest in Iran and fresh U.S. tariff threats against European nations. As a result, gold futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) reached an all-time high, while international markets also reported significant gains in precious metals.

Record Highs in Gold and Silver Prices

Gold and silver prices have reached unprecedented levels, reflecting the growing demand for safe-haven assets. On the MCX, gold futures for February jumped nearly ₹3,000, or over 2%, hitting a record high of ₹1,45,500 per 10 grams. Silver also saw a remarkable increase, with futures rising sharply. In international markets, spot gold climbed 1.7% to a new high of $4,673 per ounce, while silver surged about 3% to approximately $94 per troy ounce. Overseas silver futures even exceeded expectations, soaring more than 6% to reach a record $94.35 per ounce. This surge in prices is largely attributed to the ongoing geopolitical risks and shifting monetary expectations in the U.S., which have heightened investor interest in precious metals.

Gold Prices Across Major Indian Cities

In India, gold prices have also seen a significant rise. In Delhi, the price of 24-carat gold reached ₹14,584 per gram, an increase of ₹191. The rate for 22-carat gold stood at ₹13,370 per gram, up by ₹175, while 18-carat gold was priced at ₹10,942 per gram, rising by ₹143. Similarly, in Mumbai, 24-carat gold was priced at ₹14,569 per gram, reflecting the same increase of ₹191. The prices for 22-carat and 18-carat gold in Mumbai were ₹13,355 and ₹10,927 per gram, respectively, both up by ₹175 and ₹143. Other cities, including Chennai, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata, reported similar trends, with gold prices consistently rising across the board.

Regional Variations in Gold Pricing

Gold prices varied slightly across different regions in India, but the overall trend remained upward. In Chennai, 24-carat gold was priced at ₹14,673 per gram, an increase of ₹186. The rates for 22-carat and 18-carat gold were ₹13,450 and ₹11,230 per gram, respectively. In Ahmedabad, 24-carat gold traded at ₹14,574 per gram, up by ₹191, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹13,360 per gram. Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, and Jaipur also reported similar increases, with prices for 24-carat gold hovering around ₹14,569 per gram. The consistent rise in gold prices across various cities indicates a strong market response to the current geopolitical climate.

Investor Sentiment and Future Outlook

The current surge in gold prices reflects a broader trend of investor sentiment leaning towards safety amid global uncertainties. The ongoing geopolitical tensions, particularly in regions like Iran, coupled with trade-related concerns, have prompted many to invest in gold as a hedge against potential economic instability. As the situation evolves, analysts suggest that demand for gold and other precious metals may continue to rise, further influencing market prices. Investors are advised to stay informed about global developments that could impact the precious metals market in the coming weeks.
