Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi’s ‘Ek Din’ Set for May 1 Release, Facing Off Against Riteish Deshmukh’s ‘Raja Shivaji’

More than a week ago, it was announced that the film “Mere Raho,” featuring Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi, would not premiere on its originally scheduled date of April 24. New updates reveal that the film has reverted to its initial title, “Ek Din,” and is now set to be released on May 1, 2026. This release date will see the film competing with other major titles, including Riteish Deshmukh’s “Raja Shivaji” and the highly anticipated sequel “The Devil Wears Prada 2.”

Film Title and Release Date Changes

Sources confirm that the film, initially titled “Ek Din,” underwent a name change to “Mere Raho” before the creators decided to revert to the original title. The film is now scheduled for release on May 1, 2026. A teaser, lasting approximately 1 minute and 11 seconds, has recently received approval from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). This teaser will be included with the prints of the current release, “Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos,” which is also produced by Aamir Khan Productions. The decision to change the title back to “Ek Din” reflects the filmmakers’ commitment to their original vision for the project.

Upcoming Competition on Release Day

“Ek Din” will face stiff competition upon its release, as it will coincide with Riteish Deshmukh’s ambitious period drama, “Raja Shivaji.” This film features a star-studded cast, including Genelia Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, and Mahesh Manjrekar, among others. Directed by Deshmukh himself, “Raja Shivaji” is produced by Jio Studios and Mumbai Film Company. Additionally, the same day will see the release of “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” a sequel to the beloved 2006 film, which stars Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt. The first week of May is shaping up to be an exciting time for moviegoers, with a diverse range of films hitting theaters.

About “Ek Din”

“Ek Din” is reported to be a remake of the 2011 Korean film “One Day.” The romantic storyline was filmed during the picturesque Snow Festival in Sapporo, Japan, promising a visually stunning experience for audiences. During the filming in Japan, images of Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi surfaced, generating buzz about the project. The production began in December 2023 in Mumbai. Initially, there were plans to release the film on Valentine’s Day 2024; however, those plans were altered after the release date of Junaid’s debut film, “Loveyapa,” was set for February 7.

As the release date approaches, anticipation continues to build for “Ek Din,” with fans eager to see how this romantic tale unfolds on the big screen.
