Innovative Skilling Initiative Wraps Up in New Delhi

The Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India, Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, joined Dr. L. Murugan, the Hon’ble Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting, along with key officials from the Ministry, Netflix, and Graphiti Studios, to celebrate the conclusion of the ‘Inspiring Innovators – Naye Bharat Ki Nayi Pehchaaan’ initiative in New Delhi on January 13, 2026. This significant program, designed in collaboration with the ‘Netflix Fund for Creative Equity’, aimed to promote innovative thinking while equipping participants with essential skills.

Bridging Innovation and Education

Implemented in partnership with Graphiti Studios, the initiative effectively intertwined India’s creative and innovative ecosystems, emphasizing the importance of socially conscious storytelling. Throughout the program, eight Indian start-ups noted for their impactful innovations were showcased through a series of animated films created by enthusiastic students from various universities across the nation.

Empowering the Next Generation

During the launch, Prof. Sood remarked, “Inspiring Innovators was crafted to spotlight innovation with social relevance while bolstering our skills and knowledge pathways. By fostering a collaborative environment where start-ups and students unite through creativity, along with mentorship from industry veterans, this initiative represents a comprehensive strategy to enhance India’s innovation landscape.”

Inclusivity in Action

This initiative provided hands-on learning experiences for a diverse group of 26 students, ensuring that 50% of them were women and many hailing from Tier-II cities. Students received mentorship from experts at the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, and Graphiti Studios, allowing them to gain crucial practical knowledge about industry workflows.

Highlighting Social Impact

Dr. Murugan lauded the ‘Inspiring Innovators’ initiative for its alignment with India’s vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. He emphasized the importance of sharing the success stories of eight diverse innovators, especially those contributing to fisheries, agriculture, and assistive technologies for persons with disabilities, showcasing the societal value of innovation.

Showcasing Talent and Creativity

Mahima Kaul, Director of Global Affairs at Netflix India, noted that the program successfully united government, industry leaders, and emerging creators to celebrate ideas that are shaping India’s innovation future in an inclusive manner.

Celebration of Creative Works

The culmination of the program featured a presentation of all eight films produced during the initiative, along with a captivating anthem performance by students from the Shankar Mahadevan Academy. Senior representatives from both the government and partnering organizations were present to address the audience. The films resulting from this endeavor will be accessible on Netflix India’s YouTube channel.
