India Launches YUVA AI for All Course on National Youth Day
In a significant move to empower the youth, the Government of India commemorated National Youth Day on January 12, 2026, by announcing the National AI Literacy Program. The highlight of this initiative is the YUVA AI FOR ALL course, which aligns with the vision of Swami Vivekananda for enlightened youth and equips them with essential skills for an AI-driven future. The program was unveiled during the Rajasthan Regional AI Impact Summit held in Jaipur on January 6, 2026, by key government figures, including Rajasthan Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, Minister for Electronics and IT Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Minister of State for Electronics and IT Shri Jitin Prasada.
Empowering India’s Youth with AI Knowledge
The National AI Literacy Program aims to support the government’s vision for a Viksit Bharat while fostering the expansion of Digital Public Infrastructure. As part of this initiative, the YUVA AI FOR ALL foundational course is designed to make AI literacy a core life skill, resonating with the National Youth Day’s theme of Yuva Shakti. The course, which lasts just over four hours, serves as an accessible entry point for AI learning, requiring no previous technical background.
The curriculum covers essential topics, including an introduction to Artificial Intelligence, the technologies behind it, its applications in learning and creativity, ethical considerations, and future trends in AI. According to Minister Vaishnaw, “It is essential that citizens, particularly the youth we honor today, have a basic understanding of AI’s workings and applications. This knowledge will be invaluable for small-scale enterprises looking to enhance productivity through AI.” The National AI Literacy Program aspires to engage 10 lakh learners over the next year.
Accessible and Inclusive Learning for All
The YUVA AI FOR ALL course is free of charge and will be available in eleven regional languages, including Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, and Telugu. It can be accessed on prominent learning platforms such as FutureSkills Prime, iGOTKarmayogi, and DIKSHA. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate from the Government of India.
The initiative aims to democratize access to AI knowledge and prepare the younger population for the challenges and opportunities of a future shaped by artificial intelligence. More than just a one-day event, the YUVA AI FOR ALL program looks to lay the groundwork for a sustained and inclusive AI literacy movement in India. This coordinated effort across ministries, states, educational institutions, and digital platforms seeks to nurture responsible innovation and bolster India’s leadership in AI for the public good.
Citizens interested in becoming part of this transformative movement can enroll for the course at FutureSkills Prime.
