Development of Future Human Rights Advocates
During the valedictory session, NHRC Chairperson Justice V. Ramasubramanian addressed the interns, emphasizing the program’s goal of enhancing their thinking and fostering introspection. He encouraged the interns to pursue self-improvement and to ignite curiosity that leads to a purposeful life. “Compete with yourself, always striving to be better than you were yesterday,” he urged.
Lessons on Happiness and Knowledge Sharing
Justice Ramasubramanian reiterated that learning can be drawn from all experiences. He highlighted that true happiness stems from engaging in meaningful activities with unwavering focus. The Chairperson also urged the interns to share their newly acquired knowledge and become ambassadors for human rights, fostering a deeper understanding of the country’s cultural diversity.
Building Blocks of Understanding
NHRC member Justice (Dr) Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi congratulated the interns and stated that their experiences would serve as foundational seeds for understanding human rights and human dignity. He expressed satisfaction with the rich knowledge shared by esteemed thought leaders during the program and hoped that the interns would utilize this knowledge to positively impact society.
The Importance of Unlearning

He stated that internships with the NHRC facilitate a deeper comprehension of values such as dignity, respect, and civility. “Skills and knowledge are meaningless without purpose and values,” he said, motivating interns to become knowledgeable and principled citizens.
Recognizing the Achievements
NHRC Joint Secretary Saidingpuii Chhakchhuak presented an internship report, acknowledging the achievements and contributions of the interns, including winners of various competitions. She praised the interns’ commitment and urged them to embrace the principles of justice, dignity, and equality in their future endeavors.
