NTPC Partners with GCRI to Enhance Radiotherapy Services

Mumbai, January 3, 2026 – In a significant move to bolster cancer treatment services, NTPC Limited’s Western Region–I Headquarters in Mumbai has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Gujarat Cancer & Research Institute (GCRI). This partnership is part of NTPC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, which has allocated ₹23.16 crore for upgrading radiotherapy facilities at the Siddhpur Satellite Centre of GCRI, located in Ahmedabad.
The funding will be directed towards the procurement and installation of a state-of-the-art high-energy Linear Accelerator (LINAC). This cutting-edge technology is expected to substantially improve treatment options, making advanced radiotherapy services more accessible to cancer patients in the region.
Notable Event Highlights the Agreement
The MoA was officially exchanged by Dr. Shashank Pandya, Director of GCRI, and Shri E. Satya Phani Kumar, the Regional Executive Director (West–I) of NTPC. The agreement signing took place in the presence of senior officials from both organizations, underscoring the collaboration’s importance.
Among the attendees were Shri Akhaya Kumar Patra, GM (OS), Shri A. P. Samal, CEO (NPUNL) and CGM (Nuclear), and Smt. Vandana Chaturvedi, the Regional Head of HR (West–I), as well as key members of NTPC’s CSR team. GCRI’s senior representatives also participated in the ceremony, which highlighted the cooperative effort to enhance healthcare infrastructure.
