Xiaomi is gearing up for the launch of its highly anticipated Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra smartphones in India, but recent reports indicate that the release may be delayed beyond initial expectations. Tipster Abhishek Yadav has revealed that the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra could debut in India around March 2026, with the Xiaomi 17T potentially following a month later. This timeline marks a departure from earlier predictions that suggested a launch in January or February. As of now, Xiaomi has not issued any official statements regarding the launch schedule for the Indian market, leaving the timeline somewhat uncertain. Xu Fei, the Group Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Xiaomi, confirmed that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be available in select global markets starting January 2026. However, it remains unclear whether India will be part of this initial rollout. Based on the latest leaks, it appears that Indian consumers may see the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Xiaomi 17 approximately two months after their global debut, consistent with Xiaomi’s historical pattern of staggered releases across different regions.
For context, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra was officially launched in China on December 25, with a starting price of CNY 6,999 (approximately Rs. 83,990) for the model featuring 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The premium variant, equipped with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, is priced at CNY 8,499 (around Rs. 1,01,990). The device boasts a 6.9-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. The standard Xiaomi 17 model features a slightly smaller 6.3-inch 1.5K OLED display, also with a 120Hz refresh rate and the same powerful chipset.

As of now, Xiaomi has not confirmed specific details regarding pricing, availability, or exact launch dates for the Indian market. The information circulating about the launch timeline is primarily based on leaks and speculation rather than official announcements.
