Vande Bharat Sleeper Train Hits 180 kmph in Final Trial

Indian Railways has achieved a remarkable milestone with the successful completion of the final high-speed trial for the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train, designed and manufactured entirely within the country. Under the watchful eye of the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS), this trial took place on the Kota-Nagda section, where the train reached a maximum speed of 180 kmph. This achievement highlights India’s commitment to advancing its rail technology and becoming self-reliant in manufacturing.

The trial involved rigorous technical assessments, evaluating key factors such as ride stability, oscillation, vibration behavior, braking performance, and safety systems. The CRS confirmed that the train’s performance at high speeds met all expectations, declaring the trial a success.

Union Minister for Railways, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, shared a video showcasing the trial on social media. The video captures a water-glass stability demonstration, where glasses filled with water remained steady throughout the high-speed run. This visually compelling test underscored the train’s advanced ride quality and technical robustness.
