Among the 59 stations in Odisha earmarked for redevelopment, Bimalgarh Railway Station stands out. Located in the Sundergarh district, this station plays a significant role in accommodating both passenger and freight traffic. The planned upgrades aim to transform Bimalgarh into a cleaner, safer, and more user-friendly transit point.
The redevelopment project focuses on enhancing essential infrastructure and passenger amenities. A modern station building with an aesthetically pleasing facade is set to be constructed, along with new entry and exit gates. Improvements to the circulating area and upgraded platform shelters will greatly enhance passenger convenience and comfort.

The redevelopment plans include the installation of Divyangjan-friendly facilities such as dedicated toilets in the circulating area and on platforms. Other enhancements to the station will include the creation of a spacious waiting hall with new seating arrangements, upgraded platform surfaces, and additional canopies.
