Pension Workshop Set to Enhance Ease of Living for Retirees

In an effort to promote a smoother transition for retiring employees, the Government of India is set to launch the 58th Pre-Retirement Counselling Workshop in Pune, Maharashtra. This initiative, led by Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, aligns with Prime Minister’s vision of improving the “Ease of Living” for pensioners and their families. The workshop is scheduled for December 29, 2025, and aims to provide crucial guidance to those nearing retirement.

Empowering Retirees with Essential Knowledge

The Pre-Retirement Counselling Workshop is designed to educate government employees who are preparing to enter their retirement phase. During the event, attendees will participate in various informative sessions that cover essential topics such as Retirement Benefits, the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), different investment options, and navigating the BHAVISHYA and Integrated Pensioners Portals. Additional topics include Family Pension, CPENGRAMS, ANUBHAV, and the Digital Life Certificate process.

Anticipated Benefits for Participants

This workshop is expected to attract around 350 retirees from Maharashtra, all of whom will benefit significantly from the knowledge shared during this event. These individuals, all looking to retire within the next year, will gain insights into essential procedures and available resources to ensure a hassle-free transition into their post-employment lives.

Awareness Programs and Banking Services

In addition to the Pre-Retirement Counselling Workshop, the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare will also organize a Pensioners’ Awareness Program. Furthermore, an 11th Bankers’ Awareness Program for Pension Disbursing Banks will be conducted, aiming to enhance understanding of relevant rules and procedures for retirees and the banks involved in pension disbursement.

Exhibition Showcasing Banking Services

An exciting feature of the 58th workshop will be an exhibition set up by Pension Disbursing Banks. This exhibition will see active participation from multiple financial institutions, showcasing all banking services related to pensions. Retirees will receive expert guidance on how to open pension accounts and make informed choices regarding investment options suited to their financial needs.

Overall, the initiative underscores the government’s commitment to improving the quality of life for retirees, ensuring they are well-informed and prepared as they embark on this new chapter of their lives.
