Xiaomi Unveils HyperOS 3 Upgrade: Device Compatibility, New Features, and AI Tools

Xiaomi has announced the rollout of its latest HyperOS 3 upgrade, expanding compatibility to a wider range of smartphones and tablets across its portfolio. This update allows more devices from Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco in India to operate on Android 16. The HyperOS 3 upgrade not only enhances the operating system but also introduces new features aimed at improving user productivity and experience.

Models Eligible for the HyperOS 3 Upgrade

Sandeep Sarma, associate director of marketing and PR at Xiaomi India, confirmed via X (formerly Twitter) that the HyperOS 3 upgrade is now being distributed to additional devices. The update will soon be available for the Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi Pad 7, Redmi Note 14 5G, Redmi 13, Poco F7, and Poco M7 Pro 5G. Sarma encouraged users to follow the official Xiaomi HyperOS India account for the latest updates on the rollout. This firmware update significantly enhances the capabilities of Android 16 across Xiaomi’s main brand and its sub-brands, Redmi and Poco, ensuring that a broader audience can benefit from the latest features.

How to Check for the HyperOS 3 Update

To check for the HyperOS 3 update, users should navigate to the Settings menu and select “My Device.” From there, they can tap on the HyperOS banner at the top of the screen and choose “Check for update.” According to NDTV Gadgets 360, once the update becomes available, users can download and install it, which may require multiple restarts of the device. This straightforward process ensures that users can easily access the new features and improvements offered by HyperOS 3.

HyperOS 3 Interface Changes

The initial release of HyperOS 3 in September introduced several notable interface enhancements. One of the key features is HyperIsland, a pill-shaped notification area located at the top of the screen that provides real-time activity updates and alerts. When the device is charging, this feature also displays information such as charging speed, allowing users to quickly access essential details. Additionally, the update features a new “dual-island” design, enabling users to manage tasks and applications from a single screen without the need to switch between them. Users can also personalize their devices with cinematic lock screens and dynamic backgrounds created from still images.

HyperAI Tools

HyperOS 3, built on Android 16, integrates Xiaomi’s HyperAI capabilities into compatible devices. This includes advanced writing tools powered by AI, such as DeepThink mode and intelligent screen recognition. These features allow users to adjust the tone and style of text in emails and messages effortlessly. The update also introduces AI Speed Recognition, which enhances audio recordings. With support for real-time transcription, audio quality improvement, and the ability to generate summaries from recorded audio files, HyperAI tools significantly expand the system’s AI-driven functionalities for everyday use.
