10th Season of Proud Fathers For Daughters Fundraiser Celebrates Empowering Girls
The Proud Fathers For Daughters event returned for its tenth season, once again showcasing the powerful bond between fathers and daughters while raising significant funds to support educational initiatives for girls in India. Held on December 13 and 14, 2025, at the National Sports Club of India in Worli, Mumbai, the event attracted 240 father-daughter pairs from various regions, manifesting a strong community commitment to gender equality and empowerment.
A Celebration of Growth and Support
Founded by Anand Mahindra and renowned photographer Atul Kasbekar, Proud Fathers For Daughters aims to reshape societal views on the girl child. It highlights fathers not just as protectors but as active champions of their daughters’ dreams and potential. Each photograph captured during the event serves as a visual commitment to dismantling stereotypes and encouraging girls to aspire for greatness.
Artistry for a Cause
This year, the event featured contributions from celebrated photographers such as Colston Julian, Jaideep Oberoi, and many others, who infused their artistry into each portrait, turning each moment into a lasting memory. These images emphasize the importance of storytelling through photography to inspire social change and provide girls with the opportunity to learn, lead, and succeed.
Wings of Courage
The theme of this year’s edition, “Wings of Courage,” highlights the vital support that recognition and encouragement from fathers can provide. The initiative aligns with Project Nanhi Kali’s mission of equipping girls with 21st-century skills and leadership training, allowing them to soar to new heights.
Making a Difference through Participation
Each participant contributed INR 10,000 for a professional father-daughter photoshoot, directly funding the education for one girl for an entire year. With this approach, the event continues to expand its reach and impact, having supported 6,297 girls since its inception.
A Testament to Commitment
Both Anand Mahindra and Sheetal Mehta, Executive Director at Project Nanhi Kali, expressed their gratitude towards the photographers and participants for their invaluable contributions. They emphasized the movement’s essence: empowering girls through education is not merely an investment in their futures but also in the communities they uplift.
