Explore WhatsApp’s Latest Features for New Year 2026 Wishes

2025 is drawing to a close, and WhatsApp is gearing up for the New Year with an exciting new feature. The messaging platform has launched a “Happy New Year 2026” sticker pack, designed to help users send festive greetings effortlessly. This new addition allows users to share their New Year wishes without the need for typing or using third-party applications. The sticker pack is now available for use in chats and status updates, enhancing the way users celebrate the upcoming year.
Details of the New Sticker Pack
The newly released sticker pack includes 14 animated stickers, all packaged in a compact file size of 488KB. Users who do not see the sticker pack in their app should ensure they have the latest version of WhatsApp installed. This can be done by updating the app through the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Once updated, users can easily find the stickers in the sticker section of their chats, making it simple to add a festive touch to their conversations.
How to Use the Stickers
Sending the “Happy New Year 2026” stickers is straightforward. Users need to open WhatsApp and select the chat where they wish to send a sticker. By tapping the sticker icon in the message bar, they can access the sticker tray. The new sticker pack will be located at the bottom of this tray. After selecting a sticker, users can simply tap to send it. Additionally, these stickers can also be used in status updates. To do this, users should select a photo for their status, tap the sticker option, and choose a sticker from the New Year 2026 pack before posting.
Creating Custom New Year Images
WhatsApp is also enhancing user creativity by allowing the generation of custom New Year images using Meta AI. To create an image, users can open a chat, tap the paperclip icon, and select the AI image option. By entering a prompt like “Happy New Year,” the system will generate several images for users to choose from. This feature adds a personal touch to New Year greetings, enabling users to share unique visuals with their friends and family.
Regulatory Updates on User Data
In a related development, the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal has issued clarifications regarding WhatsApp’s handling of user data. The tribunal emphasized that its directives apply to the collection and sharing of user data for all non-WhatsApp purposes, including advertising. It stated that WhatsApp and its parent company cannot claim unrestricted rights over user data. Users must have control over what data is collected, how it is used, and how long it is stored. The order also reinforces users’ rights to opt in or opt out of data sharing at any time, addressing concerns raised by the 2021 WhatsApp policy changes.
