Public Invited to Comment on Revised Indian Statistical Institute Bill

The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has taken a significant step towards enhancing India’s statistical framework by releasing the revised draft of the Indian Statistical Institute Bill, 2025. This initiative follows the initial draft released on September 25, 2025, which solicited feedback from the public and stakeholders until November 3, 2025. The Ministry is now urging citizens to participate in shaping this important legislation.

After carefully reviewing the feedback from various stakeholders, the Ministry published the updated draft of the bill on November 28, 2025. This revised version aims to address the suggestions received during the earlier consultation phase. To further broaden public engagement, the Ministry is continuing its consultative approach by inviting additional comments on the revised draft until January 5, 2026.

How to Submit Suggestions

All interested parties, including individuals, organizations, and experts, are encouraged to submit their insights and recommendations regarding the revised draft of the Indian Statistical Institute Bill, 2025. Comments must be sent to the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation by the deadline of January 5, 2026. Stakeholders can easily access the draft bill and the submission format on the Ministry’s official website at new.mospi.gov.in.
