NESTS Hosts 2nd EMRS Principals’ Conclave in New Delhi
On December 16-17, 2025, the National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) will convene the 2nd Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) Principals’ Conclave at the Dr. Ambedkar International Center in New Delhi. This important event aims to gather Principals and Principal In-charges from 499 EMRSs across the country to focus on effective school management and strategies to enhance the educational environment for tribal students.
The conclave seeks to empower school leaders with essential knowledge and skills in line with the Government of India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This policy emphasizes a holistic, competency-based, and inclusive approach to education, particularly for children from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The event specifically fosters school leadership development, innovative academic practices, and improved governance to boost learning outcomes for tribal students.
Inauguration and Key Releases
The conclave will be officially inaugurated by Chief Guest Shri Jual Oram, the Hon’ble Minister for Tribal Affairs, accompanied by Guest of Honour Shri Durga Das Uikey, the Hon’ble Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, along with senior officials from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and NESTS. A highlight of the event will be the release of several key publications, which include Training Resource Material, the 4th Sports Meet 2025 Report, the 6th Udbhav 2025 Report, and the 2nd Principals’ Conclave Book. These documents will showcase important achievements and best practices in various fields such as academics, sports, and leadership within EMRSs.
Comprehensive Sessions and Discussions
Throughout the two-day event, participants will engage in a variety of technical sessions led by experts from organizations such as CBSE, NCERT, NVS, UNICEF, and NESTS. Key topics to be discussed encompass various aspects of EMRS operations, including safety protocols, financial procedures, human resources management, academic initiatives, and CBSE affiliation processes.
Participants will dive deep into critical subjects, exploring academic reforms, the CBSE two-examination system, lesson planning, and strategies for enhancing student learning. Topics addressing mental health, emotional well-being, and initiatives like TALASH and the Kaushalaya Programme will also be on the agenda. Administrative themes will cover probation clearance, National Pension Scheme (NPS) details, safety measures, and strategies for school performance reviews.
Moreover, sessions on financial literacy will clarify the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) procedures, procurement systems, infrastructure maintenance, and how to properly manage the transition of buildings from construction agencies. Each session will feature an open forum, fostering collaboration among participants to share experiences and tackle common challenges.
