Upcoming IPOs: Companies Like ICICI Prudential AMC and Meesho to Raise Rs 40,000 Crore

India’s initial public offering (IPO) market is buzzing with activity as around two dozen companies, including notable names like ICICI Prudential AMC, Meesho, and Juniper Green Energy, are set to launch their public offerings in the coming months. These IPOs are projected to raise nearly Rs 40,000 crore, reflecting strong investor confidence and a robust appetite for new market entries. The upcoming offerings highlight a diverse range of sectors, showcasing the eagerness of both issuers and investors to capitalize on growth opportunities.
Active IPO Pipeline
The IPO landscape in India is vibrant, with a mix of large, mid, and small-cap companies preparing to enter the market. Among the prominent firms gearing up for their public issues are AI-driven Fractal Analytics, home solutions provider Wakefit Innovations, security technology firm Innovatiview India, and the hospital chain Park Medi World. This surge in IPO activity is attributed to increasing retail participation and consistent domestic inflows, which have bolstered fundraising efforts. In 2023 alone, 96 companies have gone public, raising a total of Rs 1.6 lakh crore, with over 40 listings occurring in just the last three months. This trend indicates a significant uptick in primary market activity compared to previous years.
Record Fundraising Potential
Analysts predict that the total fundraising from IPOs could reach an unprecedented Rs 2 lakh crore by the end of 2025, driven by a series of upcoming offerings scheduled for December. Thomas Stephen, Head – Preferred at Anand Rathi Share and Stock Brokers, emphasized that this potential is remarkable given the current global market volatility and a subdued secondary market. He noted that strong domestic liquidity has supported high valuations, and mutual funds, which were previously cautious about pre-IPO investments, are now increasing their allocations. The optimism surrounding India’s consumption story, fueled by reforms like GST and income tax rationalization, has encouraged many consumer-focused businesses to pursue public listings.
Major Upcoming Offerings
Several companies are set to make significant contributions to the IPO market in the near future. ICICI Prudential AMC aims to raise Rs 10,000 crore through an offer for sale of 1.76 crore shares by its UK-based promoter, Prudential Corporation Holdings. Meanwhile, SoftBank-backed Meesho plans to raise Rs 5,421 crore through its IPO, which will open to the public on December 3. This offering includes a fresh issue of Rs 4,250 crore and an offer for sale of shares valued at Rs 1,171 crore. Other notable upcoming IPOs include Aequs (Rs 922 crore), Vidya Wires (Rs 300 crore), Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions (Rs 5,200 crore), Fractal Analytics (Rs 4,900 crore), and Juniper Green Energy (Rs 3,000 crore). Collectively, these companies are expected to contribute significantly to the anticipated Rs 40,000 crore in total fundraising.
Investor Caution Advised
As the IPO market heats up, experts urge investors to remain vigilant. Shantanu Awasthi, Co-founder & CEO of Mavenark, highlighted that companies that were once hesitant to enter public markets now recognize the need for substantial capital to sustain growth. However, he cautioned investors to carefully consider valuations and the underlying business narratives before making investment decisions. The funds raised through these IPOs are expected to be utilized for various corporate objectives, including operational expansion, capital project investments, and debt repayment, making it crucial for investors to conduct thorough due diligence.
