ICC T20 World Cup 2026 Kicks Off February 7, Concludes with Final on March 8 – Full Schedule Inside
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the schedule for the 2026 T20 World Cup, set to kick off on February 7 in Colombo. The tournament will feature a match between Pakistan and the Netherlands, followed by the West Indies facing Bangladesh. India, the defending champions, will start their campaign later that day against the USA in Mumbai and will also play Namibia in Delhi on February 12. A highly anticipated clash between India and Pakistan is scheduled for February 15 in Colombo.
The 2026 T20 World Cup will take place from February 7 to March 8, spanning across eight venues—five in India and three in Sri Lanka. The tournament will host 20 teams over 29 days, with matches scheduled to occur three times daily during the group stage. The confirmed venues include the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Eden Gardens in Kolkata, R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sinhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground in Colombo, and Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.
The ICC has established alternate knockout venues based on an agreement finalized earlier this year. If Pakistan reaches the semifinals or finals, those matches will be held in Colombo. Should Pakistan not qualify for the final, the championship match will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 8. The two semifinals will be hosted in Mumbai and Kolkata if Pakistan does not advance to the knockout stage.
The tournament will feature four groups, with Group A consisting of India, USA, Namibia, Netherlands, and Pakistan. Group B includes Australia, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Ireland, and Oman. Group C comprises England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Italy, and Nepal, while Group D features South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Canada, and the UAE. The competition promises to deliver thrilling matches as teams vie for the prestigious title.
