Now playing for the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, Hales has accumulated 1,156 runs in 35 innings while representing the Desert Vipers. His impressive record includes nine half-centuries and one century, solidifying his status as a formidable batsman. Close behind him is James Vince of the Gulf Giants, who has scored 1,055 runs in 33 innings, highlighted by a tournament-best ten fifties. Nicholas Pooran, known for his explosive batting with MI Emirates, rounds out the top three with 1,010 runs in 30 innings, boasting an impressive average of 45.90 and seven scores exceeding fifty. In terms of individual performances, Alex Hales holds the record for the highest score in ILT20 history, having scored 110 runs for the Desert Vipers in Season 1. Other notable top scores include Tom Kohler-Cadmore’s unbeaten 106 for the Sharjah Warriors in the same season and Tom Banton’s scores of 105 and 102 not out in Season 3. Banton is also the only player to have achieved two centuries in the tournament, both coming during the last season. These remarkable individual feats highlight the high level of competition and skill present in the ILT20.
Team Dominance: MI Emirates’ Batting Prowess
The ILT20 has witnessed numerous high-scoring matches, with teams surpassing the 200-run mark on 12 occasions across three seasons. MI Emirates has been particularly dominant, achieving five of these high totals. Their highest score of 241 runs for three wickets against the Desert Vipers in Season 1 remains the league’s record. This match also featured the largest winning margin in ILT20 history, with MI Emirates winning by 157 runs. Other significant team scores include 228 runs for two wickets against the Desert Vipers in Season 3 and 222 runs for three wickets by the Dubai Capitals against MI Emirates in Season 1.
Record Partnerships: Fletcher and Banton Shine
Partnerships have played a crucial role in driving team success, with the highest recorded partnership being the 198-run stand between Andre Fletcher and Tom Banton for MI Emirates against the Desert Vipers in Season 3. This record partnership underscores the importance of collaboration in T20 cricket. Other notable partnerships include Colin Munro and Alex Hales, who combined for 164 runs for the Desert Vipers against the Knight Riders in Season 1, and Kusal Perera and Tom Banton, who achieved a 157-run partnership for MI Emirates against the Sharjah Warriors in Season 3.
