DAHD Concludes Special Campaign 5.0, Achieving 100% of Targets Under Key Parameters
The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD), part of the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, has successfully wrapped up its Special Campaign 5.0, which took place from October 2 to October 31, 2025. This initiative aimed to address public grievances, enhance cleanliness, improve record management, and meet various performance targets. Under the guidance of Union Minister of State Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel and Secretary Shri Naresh Pal Gangwar, the campaign featured a variety of activities, including health check-ups, wall paintings, tree planting, and community engagement events, all designed to promote sustainability and cleanliness.
Campaign Activities and Community Engagement
Throughout the month-long campaign, DAHD and its subordinate offices engaged in numerous activities aimed at fostering community involvement and environmental awareness. The campaign included initiatives such as beautification projects through wall paintings and tree plantation drives, which encouraged employees and the public to participate in creating a cleaner environment. Health check-ups were organized to ensure the well-being of staff and their families, demonstrating the department’s commitment to public health. Additionally, events like farmers’ sangosthi provided a platform for knowledge sharing and community bonding, focusing on topics such as clean milk production. The campaign also featured creative competitions, including painting contests that highlighted the importance of cleanliness and sustainability.
Innovative Practices and Environmental Initiatives
One of the standout achievements of Special Campaign 5.0 was the creation of a cow statue made from scrap iron by the Central Cattle Breeding Farm (CCBF) in Chiplima, Sambalpur. This artistic endeavor not only symbolizes respect for cattle but also promotes environmental conservation through the innovative reuse of waste materials. The statue embodies the “Waste to Art” concept, showcasing how creativity can contribute to sustainability. Such initiatives reflect the department’s commitment to resource efficiency and environmental stewardship, encouraging similar practices across its various offices.
Highlights from Across the Country
The campaign saw participation from various regions, showcasing a range of activities that emphasized cleanliness and health. For instance, the Central Animal Breeding Farm in Sunabeda organized health check-ups in collaboration with a local medical college, while the Regional Fodder Station in Suratgarh initiated a composting project using organic waste. Additionally, the Animal Quarantine and Certification Service in Hyderabad held a painting competition at a local school, engaging children in discussions about cleanliness. These activities not only fostered community spirit but also raised awareness about important agricultural practices and health standards among livestock farmers.
Commitment to Cleanliness and Sustainability
The overarching theme of Special Campaign 5.0 was the promotion of cleanliness and sustainability within the department and the communities it serves. Various awareness camps were organized to educate farmers about clean milk production, vaccination, and animal hygiene. The campaign also included tree plantation programs, such as “EK Ped Maa Ke Naam,” which aimed to enhance green cover in urban areas. By integrating these initiatives, the DAHD demonstrated its dedication to fostering a cleaner, healthier environment for both livestock and the communities that depend on them. The successful completion of this campaign marks a significant step towards achieving the department’s goals of sustainability and public engagement.
