Department of Rural Development Completes Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters

Under the guidance of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, the Department of Rural Development conducted a comprehensive campaign known as SCDPM 5.0 from October 2 to October 31, 2025. This initiative focused on addressing various pending matters, including references from Members of Parliament, state governments, and public grievances. The campaign aimed to enhance governance efficiency and create a more citizen-centric office environment, yielding impressive results across multiple areas.
Key Achievements of the Campaign
The SCDPM 5.0 campaign achieved significant milestones, reflecting the Department’s commitment to good governance. Among the notable accomplishments were the successful execution of cleanliness campaigns, with all three planned events completed. The Department also addressed 93 references from MPs, resolving 90 of them, which translates to a 96% achievement rate. Additionally, all six state government references were addressed, achieving a 100% success rate. The campaign also focused on public grievances, with 1,346 grievances received and 1,339 resolved, resulting in a 99% resolution rate.
The campaign’s effectiveness extended to the review of physical and electronic files. A total of 4,231 physical files and 2,176 electronic files were reviewed, with 1,123 physical files weeded out and 502 electronic files closed. This effort not only streamlined operations but also contributed to decluttering office spaces.
Environmental and Financial Impact
The campaign also had a positive environmental impact, generating revenue of ₹1,13,874 through the disposal of scrap and e-waste. The initiative freed up approximately 1,200 square feet of office space, enhancing the overall functionality of the work environment. The Department’s commitment to cleanliness was further demonstrated through outdoor cleanliness campaigns, which involved the participation of officials from the Department of Rural Development.
Daily progress was meticulously monitored by a dedicated team, ensuring that data was consistently updated on the SCDPM portal hosted by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances. This transparency in reporting helped maintain accountability and track the campaign’s success.
Promoting Awareness and Future Goals
To raise awareness about the campaign, the Department actively shared updates on various social media platforms. This outreach not only highlighted the achievements of the campaign but also encouraged public engagement in cleanliness and governance initiatives. The Department of Rural Development utilized this opportunity to enhance the cleanliness of common areas and maintain office rooms effectively.
Looking ahead, the Department aims to build on the successes of the SCDPM 5.0 campaign. By continuing to focus on minimizing pendency and improving office cleanliness, the Department seeks to foster an environment that prioritizes efficiency and citizen satisfaction. The achievements of this campaign underscore the Department’s dedication to good governance and its commitment to serving the public effectively.
