Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology Completes Special Campaign 5.0 for Disposal of Pending Matters
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has successfully concluded its Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters (SCDPM) 5.0, which ran from October 2 to October 31, 2025. This initiative aimed to enhance efficiency and transparency in administrative processes. The campaign also included a significant “Cyber Swachhata” drive, promoting better digital resource management and cybersecurity practices.
Achievements in Record Management and Space Optimization
During the SCDPM 5.0 campaign, MeitY achieved notable milestones in record management and space optimization. The initiative adopted a saturation approach that effectively reduced pending matters and addressed public grievances. As a result, the campaign generated revenue of ₹41,12,480 through the disposal of scrap materials. Over 150 Swachhata activities were conducted across 20 associated organizations and field offices, leading to the reclamation of more than 1,700 square feet of office space. This effort not only improved operational efficiency but also set new benchmarks for governance within MeitY and its affiliated bodies.
Focus on Cyber Hygiene and Digital Transformation
A key component of the campaign was the “Cyber Swachhata” drive, which aligned with the sustainability goals of the Digital India initiative. The drive aimed to enhance cybersecurity and system performance while promoting efficient digital resource management. Awareness sessions were organized by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) and the Standardization Testing and Quality Certification (STQC) centers, focusing on best practices for cyber hygiene. On October 8, 2025, the Secretary of MeitY and the Director General of CERT-In addressed SCDPM 5.0 Nodal Officers at a workshop dedicated to cybersecurity awareness.
Commitment to Citizen-Centric Governance
Throughout the campaign, MeitY undertook a comprehensive review of all public grievances and appeals pending with the Ministry. This thorough examination ensured that all issues were resolved, reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to citizen-centric governance. Additionally, all pending Parliamentary assurances, Inter-Ministerial Committee references, and VIP communications were systematically addressed, reflecting a strong sense of accountability and prompt action. The campaign also emphasized the reduction of physical files through extensive digitization efforts, resulting in the closure of 1,460 e-files and improved record management.
Community Engagement and Future Initiatives
As part of SCDPM 5.0, MyGov hosted the “Share Your Picture – Transforming Waste to Art” contest, encouraging citizens to creatively repurpose waste. The initiative received 654 entries, showcasing community engagement in sustainability efforts. Moving forward, MeitY plans to continue regular physical and digital cleanliness drives throughout the year. Through SCDPM 5.0, the Ministry has reinforced its dedication to fostering an efficient, transparent, and digitally empowered governance ecosystem.
