Department of Financial Services Concludes Special Campaign 5.0

The Department of Financial Services (DFS) has successfully concluded its month-long Special Campaign 5.0, which ran from October 2 to October 31, 2025. This initiative aimed to reduce backlog issues and promote cleanliness across its various organizations, including public sector banks and financial institutions. The campaign emphasized efficient space management, customer-centric services, and environmental sustainability, resulting in significant achievements in grievance disposal and space optimization.

Achievements of the Campaign

The Special Campaign 5.0 yielded impressive results, with the DFS achieving a 100% disposal rate for all identified public grievances, appeals, and references from Members of Parliament. Over the course of the campaign, a total of 215,965 square feet of space was cleared, generating revenue of approximately ₹3.20 crore through the disposal of scrap materials. Additionally, cleanliness drives were conducted at more than 41,000 sites nationwide, showcasing the DFS’s commitment to maintaining a clean and organized environment.

Pension Grievance Initiatives

As part of the campaign, 12 public sector banks and 28 regional rural banks organized Pension Grievance Weeks. These events aimed to educate pensioners about the submission of online life certificates and the availability of doorstep banking services. The initiative also focused on facilitating the registration and resolution of grievances, ensuring that pensioners received the support they needed in a timely manner.

Cyber Security Awareness Efforts

In an effort to enhance cyber security awareness, various public sector banks and regional rural banks utilized social media platforms to disseminate educational content. They shared safety tips and practices aimed at combating cyber fraud, thereby empowering customers to protect themselves online. Notably, the State Bank of India published a comprehensive book on cyber security, further underscoring the importance of this issue in today’s digital landscape.

Ongoing Financial Literacy Initiatives

The DFS encouraged its organizations to engage in activities that promote financial literacy during the campaign. These activities included updating nominations in bank accounts, activating dormant accounts, renewing locker agreements, and addressing pending claims. Throughout the campaign, over 500 posts were shared on social media, highlighting the collaborative efforts of staff, management, and customers in promoting the campaign’s objectives. The DFS’s proactive approach reflects its commitment to enhancing financial services and ensuring customer satisfaction.
