Eighth Joint Working Group Meeting on Agriculture Between India and the Netherlands
The eighth meeting of the Joint Working Group (JWG) on Agriculture between India and the Netherlands took place today at Krishi Bhawan in New Delhi. Co-chaired by Shri Priya Ranjan from India’s Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Mr. Guido Landheer from the Netherlands’ Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, the meeting focused on enhancing agricultural cooperation. Both nations discussed current agricultural priorities and challenges, emphasizing the importance of the JWG in fostering long-term collaboration.
Exchanging Insights on Agricultural Priorities
During the meeting, representatives from both countries exchanged valuable insights regarding their agricultural sectors. They highlighted the current priorities and challenges faced by their respective industries. Both sides expressed enthusiasm for exploring these new areas, which could lead to significant advancements in their agricultural sectors.
Commitment to Strengthening Bilateral Relations
Both delegations expressed satisfaction with the constructive and results-oriented discussions. They reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation in agriculture and related sectors. The Netherlands delegation included key officials such as Ms. Marion van Schaik, Agriculture Counsellor, and Ms. Sarah Visser Ravichandran, Senior Policy Officer. The Indian side was represented by senior officials from various departments, including the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and the Ministry of Food Processing Industries. This collaborative spirit sets a positive tone for future engagements between the two nations in the agricultural domain.
