India Maritime Week 2025 to Begin in Mumbai on 27th October

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) of India is gearing up to host the India Maritime Week 2025 (IMW 2025) from October 27 to 31 at the NESCO Grounds in Mumbai. This significant event aims to be the largest maritime gathering in the world, uniting key stakeholders from the maritime ecosystem under the theme “Uniting Oceans, One Maritime Vision.” The week-long event will highlight India’s ambition to become a global maritime hub and a leader in the Blue Economy.

Inaugural Ceremony and Distinguished Guests

The opening ceremony of IMW 2025 will be graced by Shri Amit Shah, the Hon’ble Minister of Home Affairs. He will be joined by prominent leaders, including Chief Ministers from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, and Odisha. This gathering underscores the importance of the event, which is expected to attract ministers from 11 countries along with their industry delegations. Their participation reflects the increasing global interest in India’s maritime sector and its potential for growth and collaboration.

Global Participation and Representation

IMW 2025 is set to welcome over 100,000 delegates from more than 85 countries, showcasing a wide array of international representation. Major players from the global maritime industry, international organizations, and policy think tanks will be in attendance. Additionally, several state ministers and Lieutenant Governors from various regions of India will participate, presenting investment opportunities and highlighting regional maritime strengths. This diverse participation is indicative of the event’s significance in fostering international maritime trade and connectivity.

Prime Minister’s Engagement and Strategic Discussions

A highlight of the week will be the address by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, scheduled for the evening of October 29. He will speak to the nation and global maritime leaders during a special plenary session. Furthermore, the Prime Minister will lead a high-level global CEO forum, engaging with selected international CEOs from leading maritime companies. This strategic engagement aims to enhance collaboration and innovation within the maritime sector.

Investment Opportunities and Comprehensive Programming

IMW 2025 will feature over 350 international speakers, making it a hub for industry expertise and strategic dialogue. The event is expected to facilitate the signing of more than 600 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), with investment commitments exceeding ₹10 lakh crore. Alongside the discussions, a comprehensive exhibition will showcase over 400 exhibitors, and the conference schedule will include more than 12 flagship events. Notable sessions will cover various topics, including the Global Maritime India Summit and the QUAD Ports of the Future Conference, among others. This extensive programming aims to foster collaboration and innovation in the maritime industry.
