Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu Launches Alliance Air’s “Fare se Fursat” Fixed Airfare Scheme
Minister of Civil Aviation, Shri Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu, has launched a groundbreaking initiative called ‘Fare Se Fursat’ aimed at alleviating the stress of fluctuating airfares for passengers in India. This program, introduced by Alliance Air, the government-owned regional carrier, promises a fixed fare system that remains constant regardless of when tickets are booked, even on the day of travel. The initiative will be piloted from October 13 to December 31, 2025, on select routes to assess its effectiveness and passenger response.
Fixed Fare System to Enhance Travel Experience
The ‘Fare Se Fursat’ initiative introduces a single, unchanging fare for air travel, addressing the common frustrations associated with dynamic pricing models prevalent in India’s aviation market. This new approach aims to provide passengers with predictability in costs, even for last-minute bookings. Minister Kinjarapu emphasized that this scheme aligns with the principles of the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme, which seeks to democratize air travel and make it more accessible for the middle and lower-middle classes. By eliminating the uncertainty of fluctuating airfares, the initiative is expected to enhance the overall travel experience for passengers.

During the launch event, Minister Kinjarapu outlined his vision for a more passenger-centric aviation sector. He highlighted the introduction of Udan Yatri Cafes at airports, offering affordable refreshments to travelers. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to make air travel dignified and accessible. The Minister stated, “Now we are taking a step further and addressing the major concern of passengers which is the airfare.” The fixed fare system is seen as a significant step in this direction, aiming to alleviate the financial burden on travelers.

Alliance Air has been recognized as a vital player in the government’s Regional Connectivity Scheme, connecting Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities to the national aviation network. Minister Kinjarapu praised the airline for its commitment to public service, stating that the ‘One Route, One Fare’ concept reflects a forward-thinking approach that prioritizes the needs of passengers over profitability. This initiative is expected to encourage first-time flyers from smaller towns to consider air travel, further supporting the government’s goal of making aviation accessible to all.
