Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy Collaborates with Manipal Academy
The Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), in partnership with the Manipal Institute of Virology (MIV), has launched a five-day residential workshop titled “Biosafety & Outbreak Simulation Training 2025.” Running from October 6 to 10, 2025, at the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) campus in Karnataka, this initiative aims to enhance the skills of research scientists in biosafety practices and outbreak response. The program has attracted significant interest, with participants selected from various institutes across India.
Workshop Objectives and Participation
The “Biosafety & Outbreak Simulation Training 2025” workshop is specifically designed for CCRH research scientists. Its primary goal is to improve preparedness and response capabilities in the face of health crises. By focusing on biosafety practices, the program aims to bolster public health initiatives under the Ministry of AYUSH. The training opportunity has garnered attention from 33 institutes and units of CCRH, spanning 22 states and union territories across India. Following a rigorous online assessment by MIV, 30 research scientists from 14 states and union territories were selected to participate in this specialized training.
Inauguration and Keynote Addresses
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Subhash Kaushik, Director General of CCRH, who emphasized the importance of collaboration between CCRH and MAHE. In his inaugural address, he highlighted the need for equipping research scientists with the necessary skills to tackle emerging health crises. Dr. Kaushik also discussed the potential role of Homoeopathy in addressing epidemics and pandemics. The event was attended by esteemed dignitaries, resource persons, and trainees, all of whom were welcomed by Dr. Chiranjay Mukhopadhyay, Director of MIV.
Memorandum of Understanding
A significant highlight of the workshop was the exchange of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between CCRH and MAHE. This agreement aims to foster collaboration in research, education, and training. The MoU was signed by Dr. Subhash Kaushik and Dr. P. Giridhar Kini, Registrar of MAHE. This partnership is expected to enhance the capabilities of both institutions in addressing public health challenges through collaborative efforts.
Support from MAHE and Training Coordination
During the workshop, Dr. Sharath Kumar Rao K, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Health Sciences at MAHE, delivered a keynote address praising the initiative. He assured participants of MAHE’s support in conducting collaborative research projects. The training coordinators for the workshop include Dr. Suhana P. Azis, Research Officer at CCRH; Dr. Sreekanth Gopinathan Pillai, Associate Professor; Dr. Sudheesh N., Assistant Professor; and Mr. Anup Jayaram, Lecturer at MIV. Their involvement underscores the commitment to providing a comprehensive training experience for the participants.
