ESIC Hospitals Implement Health Initiatives Under Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan

A nationwide health initiative titled โSwasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaanโ is currently underway, running from September 17 to October 2, 2025. Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this campaign coincides with the 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah and aims to enhance women’s health and family empowerment across India. The Employeesโ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) is actively participating by organizing health camps in 160 hospitals nationwide, focusing on preventive care and community awareness.
Health Camps Across the Nation
The ESIC Medical College & Hospital in Faridabad kicked off the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan with a series of health-focused activities on its inaugural day. The event was led by Dr. Pooja Goyal and Dr. Rohit Dhaka, who emphasized the importance of preventive healthcare for women and their families. The initiative reflects ESIC’s commitment to providing accessible and quality medical services, particularly for working women.
Health camps were organized at local industries, including Shahi Export Pvt. Ltd. and Dhruv Global Ltd. Women participated in screenings for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and tuberculosis. Clinical examinations included tests for hypertension, diabetes, and anemia, along with awareness sessions on lifestyle disorders and nutrition. The camps also facilitated the enrollment of beneficiaries under the Nikshay Mitra initiative, promoting active participation in tuberculosis awareness.
Blood Donation and Cancer Awareness Initiatives
In addition to health screenings, a blood donation camp was held at the ESIC Medical College & Hospital in Faridabad. This initiative aimed to promote voluntary blood donation within the community. Donors were recognized for their contributions, and the camp included essential health checks such as hemoglobin testing and blood group estimation. The donated blood units underwent screening for viral markers to ensure safe transfusion practices. Awareness sessions were also conducted to encourage a culture of voluntary blood donation.
Furthermore, a comprehensive womenโs health camp focused on cancer awareness and screening was organized. Women received antenatal check-ups, nutritional assessments, and targeted screenings for various health conditions, including tuberculosis and diabetes. Specialized examinations for oral, breast, and cervical cancers were conducted, including Pap smear tests for early detection of cervical cancer. These efforts highlight the importance of early diagnosis and preventive care in empowering women and supporting family health.
New Facilities and Community Engagement in Hyderabad
On the same day, the ESIC Medical College & Hospital in Sanathnagar, Hyderabad, inaugurated its new 200-bedded hospital as part of the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan. The event was attended by Dr. Sourav Kumar Dutta and other senior officials, marking a significant advancement in healthcare delivery at ESIC. The new facility aims to enhance access to quality medical care for insured beneficiaries and the broader community.
In alignment with the campaign, various activities were organized at the Hyderabad campus, including preventive health check-up camps, blood donation drives, and yoga sessions. These initiatives underscore ESIC’s holistic approach to health promotion, disease prevention, and community engagement. The activities not only provided essential healthcare services but also raised awareness about lifestyle modifications and women-centric health challenges.
Commitment to National Health Priorities
The day-long activities under the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan have significantly contributed to raising awareness about women’s health issues and preventive care. ESIC remains dedicated to supporting national health priorities and fostering a healthier, empowered society. Through these initiatives, the organization aims to strengthen community health and ensure the well-being of families across India.
