Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, has previously expressed openness to releasing Starfield on platforms beyond Xbox. In an interview earlier this year, he emphasized the company’s commitment to a multiplatform release strategy, stating that there is no reason to limit a game’s availability if it can reach a wider audience and achieve business success. This approach has already yielded positive results for Microsoft, as evidenced by the successful launch of Playground Games’ Forza Horizon 5 on PS5, which became the best-selling game on the platform shortly after its release.
Upcoming Xbox Titles on PS5
The trend of Xbox games making their way to PS5 is set to continue, with several titles scheduled for release in the coming months. Gears of War: Reloaded, a remastered version of the original game, is slated to launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X on August 26, 2025. Additionally, an enhanced version of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will be available on PS5 starting August 12. Reports also suggest that future titles, including Gears of War: E-Day and State of Decay 3, are expected to arrive on the PS5 next year, further expanding the library of Xbox games available to PlayStation players.
