This Budget gives priority to the deprived: PM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi noted that the first budget of the Amrit Kaal has established a strong foundation for fulfilling the aspirations and resolutions of a developing nation. According to him, this budget prioritizes the deprived and aims to fulfill the dreams of the poor, villages, and middle class as well as the aspirational society.
He congratulated the Finance Minister and her team on a historic Budget. In his speech, the Prime Minister referred to traditional artisans like carpenters, lahars (ironsmiths), sunars (goldsmiths), kumhars (potters), and sculptors as the creators of the nation. As a tribute to their hard work and creativity, the country has come up with many schemes. Training, credit, and market support have been arranged for them. PM Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman i.e. PM ViKaS will bring a big change in the lives of crores of Vishwakarmaโ the Prime Minister said.
Whether women live in cities or villages, are employed or are at home, the Prime Minister informed that the government has taken significant steps to empower women such as Jal Jeevan Mission, Ujjwala Yojna, PM Awas Yojana, etc. If Women Self Help Groups are strengthened further, which is a sector with extreme potential, miracles can be performed. Women Self Help Groups have been given a new dimension in the new budget with the introduction of a new special savings scheme, which the Prime Minister said would strengthen women, especially homemakers.
According to the Prime Minister, this Budget will make cooperatives a fulcrum of the development of the rural economy. In the cooperative sector, the government has implemented the world’s largest food storage scheme. As part of the budget, a scheme for forming new primary cooperatives has been announced. This will expand the area of โโmilk and fish production along with farming, farmers, animal husbandry and fishermen will get better prices for their produce.
In his budget speech, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of replicating the success of digital payments in the agriculture sector.
During the International Year of Millets, he noted that India has many types of millet with multiple names. When millets reach households all over the world, special recognition is needed. โThis superfood has been given a new identity of Shree-Anna.โ, the Prime Minister said as he underlined that small farmers and tribal farmers of the country will get economic support along with a healthy life for the citizens of the country.
According to Shri Modi, this budget will expand Green Growth, Green Economy, Green Infrastructure, and Green Jobs for a Sustainable Future in unprecedented ways. Technology and the new economy have been emphasized in the budget. Aspirational India today wants modern infrastructure in every field, including roads, rails, metros, ports, and waterways. Over 400 percent more investment has been made in infrastructure since 2014″, the Prime Minister said, underlining India’s unprecedented investment of ten lakh crores in infrastructure. In addition, these investments will create new employment opportunities for youth, thereby generating new income opportunities for a large number of people.
As part of the campaign of credit support and reforms for industries, the Prime Minister also touched on Ease of Doing Business. As he noted that increasing the limit of presumptive tax will assist MSMEs in growing, the Prime Minister announced an additional loan guarantee of Rs 2 lakh crore. Furthermore, a new arrangement has been made for big companies to pay MSMEs on time.
In his speech, the Prime Minister emphasized the potential of the middle class in realizing the dreams of 2047. In order to empower the middle class, the government has taken many significant decisions in the past years that have made life easier. In addition to the reduction of tax rates, he highlighted the simplification, transparency, and speeding up of processes. โOur government that always stood with the middle class has given huge tax relief to themโ, the Prime Minister concluded.
