Apple Set to Unveil iPhone 17e and M5 MacBook Pro

Apple is gearing up for an exciting lineup of product launches in 2026, according to industry insider Mark Gurman from Bloomberg. The tech giant plans to unveil several new devices, including an M5-powered MacBook Pro, an M4-powered iPad Air, an entry-level iPad, and a refreshed MacBook Air in the first half of the year. Additionally, Apple is reportedly working on the iPhone 17e, a successor to the iPhone 16e, which may feature a design similar to its predecessor.
Apple’s Upcoming Product Lineup
Mark Gurman has revealed that Apple is set to introduce a range of new devices by Spring 2026. Among these are updated versions of the entry-level iPad and iPad Air, which are expected to launch early next year, following the release of the current models in March 2025. The new base iPad is anticipated to maintain a design akin to the existing model but will likely feature a faster processor. This device is projected to debut in March or April 2026.
The iPad Air is also expected to receive an upgrade to the M4 chip, although this may be the only significant change. Gurman notes that these devices are โfurther aheadโ in development and could be released around the same time as the base iPad. This strategic timing suggests Apple is keen to refresh its tablet offerings to maintain competitiveness in the market.
New iPhone and MacBook Models
In addition to the iPads, Apple is reportedly developing the iPhone 17e, which is expected to resemble the current iPhone 16e. This new model may feature an upgraded A19 system-on-chip, aligning with the upcoming iPhone 17 series. Codenamed V159, the iPhone 17e is anticipated to be released in early 2026, further expanding Apple’s smartphone lineup.
The company is also planning to launch new MacBook Pro models, including 14-inch and 16-inch versions powered by M5 chipsets. Initially expected to debut this year, the launch has been delayed, with these models now slated for a 2026 release. Gurman indicates that these will be the last MacBook models to feature the current design, with future iterations likely adopting new cases and OLED screens.
MacBook Air and External Monitor Developments
Apple is also set to introduce two new MacBook Air models, codenamed J813 and J815, which are expected to feature 13-inch and 15-inch displays, respectively. These devices are on track for release in early 2026, adding to the variety of options available to consumers in the MacBook lineup.
Furthermore, Apple plans to launch a new external monitor for the Mac, following the Apple Studio Display released in 2022. This new monitor is also expected to be available in early 2026, indicating Apple’s commitment to enhancing its desktop ecosystem.
Future Innovations and Smart Home Hub
Gurman suggests that this series of launches is part of Apple’s strategy to ensure consistent revenue growth. In addition to refreshing existing product lines, the company continues to work on its long-awaited smart home hub. Initially scheduled for a March 2025 release, the project faced delays due to issues with Siri. However, it is now expected to be included in Apple’s packed launch schedule for early next year, signaling the company’s ongoing efforts to innovate in the smart home market.
