Red Magic has officially launched its Astra gaming tablet in select global markets, promising enhanced gaming performance and display capabilities. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC and features an in-house RedCore R3 Pro gaming chip, designed to elevate the gaming experience. With a sophisticated 13-layer ICE-X cooling system, the Astra aims to maintain optimal performance during intense gaming sessions. The tablet will be available for purchase later this month, with pre-orders already open.

The Red Magic Astra is priced starting at $499 (approximately Rs. 42,800) in the United States for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. For those seeking more memory and storage, the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage model is available for $649 (around Rs. 55,600), while the top-tier 24GB RAM and 1TB storage version is priced at $849 (approximately Rs. 72,700). Pre-orders can be made through the official Red Magic website, with sales commencing on July 16. In Europe, the tablet starts at EUR 499 (roughly Rs. 50,400), and in the UK, it begins at GBP 439 (approximately Rs. 51,700).

Specifications and Features

The Red Magic Astra boasts a 9.06-inch 2.4K OLED display with a resolution of 2400×1504 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. The display is designed for responsiveness, featuring a touch sampling rate of up to 2,000Hz and a brightness level reaching 1,600 nits. Additionally, it includes SGS eye protection certification and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The tablet is powered by a 3nm octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, complemented by the RedCore R3 Pro chip, which enhances both display and gaming performance. It runs on Android 15-based Redmagic OS 10.5 and supports Google Gemini features.
