NCL Launches Campaign to Promote Yoga Awareness to 25,000 Individuals

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the International Day of Yoga (IDY) has evolved into a significant global initiative promoting well-being, peace, and harmony. In anticipation of IDY 2025, Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a Miniratna company based in Singrauli, is launching an extensive awareness campaign from June 15 to June 20, 2025. This campaign aims to highlight the health benefits of yoga and engage the local community, culminating in a large-scale celebration on June 21, which is recognized as International Yoga Day.
Campaign Overview and Theme
NCL’s awareness campaign is designed to connect with approximately 25,000 individuals, emphasizing the theme for this year’s Yoga Day: “One Earth, One Health.” This theme underscores the interconnectedness of human health and the health of the planet. The campaign seeks to inspire participants to embrace yoga as a means of achieving physical well-being, mental tranquility, and a deeper connection with nature and their community. By promoting these values, NCL aims to foster a culture of health and wellness that extends beyond the workplace.
The initiative aligns with the broader global movement advocating for yoga as a tool to combat lifestyle-related disorders. NCL recognizes that a healthy community is foundational to a healthy nation and world. The campaign is not merely a celebration; it is an opportunity to unite individuals in promoting holistic well-being for all.
Community Engagement Initiatives
NCL’s campaign includes a variety of community-oriented programs designed to engage different segments of the population. One of the key components is the Yoga Awareness Rallies, which aim to disseminate information about the benefits of yoga to employees, contractual workers, students, and local stakeholders. These rallies will help raise awareness and encourage participation in yoga practices.
Additionally, NCL will host Essay Writing and Poster Making Competitions for local children and youth. These activities will provide a creative outlet for young people to express their understanding of yoga’s role in promoting health and well-being. Public Yoga Sessions will also be organized, adhering to the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP), ensuring inclusivity for participants of all ages, including children and senior citizens.
Workshops and Participation Goals
To instill the practice of yoga from an early age, NCL will conduct workshops in schools and colleges. These workshops are intended to cultivate a habit of yoga among students, promoting lifelong health benefits. On June 21, 2025, the culmination of the campaign will see over 10,000 participants engaging in yoga sessions across all NCL areas and units.
This extensive outreach reflects NCL’s commitment to making yoga a sustainable practice within its workplace and the surrounding community. By fostering ongoing health initiatives, the company aims to create a supportive environment for employees and their families, as well as local stakeholders.
