Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC Set for Early Launch

Qualcomm has officially announced the dates for its highly anticipated Snapdragon Summit, set to take place during Computex 2025 in Taipei. Scheduled for late September, this year’s event will introduce the next-generation chipset, tentatively named the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. This launch comes earlier than Qualcomm’s usual timeline, with devices featuring the new chipset expected to hit the market by October.

Snapdragon Summit Dates and Location

Qualcomm’s President and CEO, Cristiano Amon, revealed during his keynote at Computex 2025 that the Snapdragon Summit will occur from September 23 to September 25 in Hawaii. This marks a shift from previous years, as last year’s summit was held in late October. The Snapdragon Summit has consistently served as Qualcomm’s platform for unveiling its flagship smartphone system-on-chips (SoCs). This year, the spotlight will likely be on the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, which is anticipated to enhance the performance of mobile devices significantly.

Anticipated Features of Snapdragon 8 Elite 2

The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is rumored to deliver a 25 percent performance boost compared to its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite. It is expected to utilize TSMC’s advanced 3nm (N3P) process node, incorporating second-generation Oryon CPU cores with a base frequency of 4.4GHz. Additionally, the new chipset is said to support both LPDDR5x and LPDDR6 RAM, positioning it as a powerful option for future smartphones.

First Devices to Feature the New Chipset

The Xiaomi 16 and Xiaomi 16 Pro are believed to be the first smartphones equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset. Other notable devices expected to feature the new technology include the OnePlus 15, Realme GT 8, iQOO 14, Vivo X300 Ultra, and the Samsung Galaxy S26 series. Last year, the Xiaomi 15 series was the first to showcase Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, setting a precedent for the upcoming launch.

As Qualcomm gears up for this significant event, the tech community eagerly awaits the innovations that the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will bring to the smartphone market.
