Hera Pheri 3 Controversy: Akshay Kumar’s Good Films Takes Center Stage

In a surprising turn of events regarding the highly anticipated comedy sequel Hera Pheri 3, Akshay Kumarโ€™s production company, Cape of Good Films, has filed a legal notice against veteran actor Paresh Rawal. The notice demands Rs 25 crore in damages, alleging that Rawal walked away from the project after accepting a part payment of Rs 11 lakh. This dispute has raised eyebrows, especially since Rawal had publicly confirmed his involvement in the film.

Legal Notice Issued Over Withdrawal

The conflict stems from Rawal’s unexpected decision to withdraw from Hera Pheri 3, despite having publicly and contractually confirmed his participation. Sources indicate that Rawal acknowledged his role in the film through a social media post on January 30, 2025, and signed a term sheet on March 27, which included the acceptance of a token payment of Rs 11 lakh. Following this commitment, Cape of Good Films proceeded with the film’s initial shooting and teaser production, which began on April 3, with over three minutes of footage featuring Rawal already filmed.

Insiders have revealed that Rawal participated in several creative meetings alongside lead actors Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty, and he did not express any concerns regarding the script or creative direction during these discussions. The production team has expressed surprise at Rawal’s sudden exit, which he attributed to “creative differences.” They argue that his departure has disrupted the film’s schedule and caused significant financial repercussions.

Claims of Financial Setback

In the legal notice, Cape of Good Films has characterized Rawal’s exit as “abrupt” and “unjustified,” asserting that it has jeopardized the momentum of this high-profile production. The company claims that Rawal’s withdrawal not only disrupted the filming schedule but also inflicted a considerable financial setback. The notice demands that Rawal comply within seven days, warning that failure to do so will result in the pursuit of both civil and criminal legal remedies.

This legal action follows reports of rising tensions between Rawal and the production team. While Rawal has confirmed his exit from the film and communicated this to the team, both Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan have denied any prior warning from Rawal. They have expressed their support for the legal measures taken by Cape of Good Films, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation.

Anticipation for Hera Pheri 3

As the third installment in the beloved Hera Pheri franchise, this sequel has generated significant excitement among fans and industry insiders alike. The ongoing legal dispute adds an unexpected layer of drama to the film’s production, which many are closely monitoring for further developments. With the film’s future now uncertain, both the production team and fans are left waiting to see how this situation will unfold.
