Samsung Set to Replace Galaxy S26+

Samsung has recently unveiled the Galaxy S25 Edge, marking a significant addition to its flagship smartphone lineup with a sleek 5.8mm design. While this latest model is yet to hit the Indian market, speculation is already rife regarding the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, particularly the anticipated Galaxy S26 Edge. Reports suggest that Samsung may replace one of the existing models in the S26 lineup with this new Edge variant, contingent on the market’s response to the Galaxy S25 Edge.

Samsung May Add Edge Model to Galaxy S26 Series Next Year

According to a report from the Korean publication The Elec, Samsung is considering the introduction of an “Edge” model in its forthcoming Galaxy S26 series. This new variant, likely to be named the Galaxy S26 Edge, is expected to take the place of the Galaxy S26+ model. This strategic shift aims to streamline Samsung’s flagship offerings and cater to evolving consumer preferences.

The decision to replace the traditional Plus variant with the slimmer Edge model will depend heavily on how well the Galaxy S25 Edge performs in the market. If the new device does not resonate with consumers, Samsung may opt to retain the Plus variant in the S26 lineup. The report indicates that Samsung has set ambitious shipping targets for the Galaxy S25 series, aiming for a total of 37.7 million units this year. Specifically, the company plans to sell 6.7 million units of the Galaxy S25+, while projecting sales of 13.6 million units for the Galaxy S25 and 17.4 million units for the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Additionally, the report highlights that Samsung has commenced development on the Galaxy S26 family, codenamed NPA. The company is reportedly working on four distinct OLED panels for the upcoming series, indicating a focus on enhancing display technology.
