Scene 1: The Bell and the Silence
Abhira sits cross-legged on the floor, cradling Pookie. “Why won’t you talk to him?” she whispers to her stuffed toy, Pookie. “He never listens!” The toy jingles as Abhira shakes it, making Pookie giggle. “See? You love this bell,” Abhira murmurs. The Poddars watch from the doorway. Vidya nudges Madhav. “Let’s go,” she whispers. “Arman won’t like us near her.” Madhav nods, stepping back. Later, Abhira gathers the family. “Play with her! She’s part of us!” she insists. Aryan shrugs. “I bought her toys.” Madhav adds, “Me too.” Abhira softens. “Promise me you’ll treat her like your own daughter.”
Scene 2: Cracks in the Celebration
Charu and Kiara slice a chocolate cake. “Call Arman!” Kiara chirps. Abhira hands Pookie to Manisha. “I’ll be right back.” Arman snores on the couch. Abhira hesitates, then tiptoes away. “Let him sleep,” she decides. Hours later, Arman jolts awake. “Where’s Pookie?!” he barks. “She’s safe with the Poddars,” Abhira replies. Arman storms off. “They don’t know her like I do!” Krish approaches Pookie, who wails instantly. Arman whirls around. “Manisha! You scared her!” Manisha flinches. “I didn’t touch her!” “She’s hungry,” Abhira says calmly. Arman glares. “No! Her dress is wrong!” “This is about control!” Abhira snaps. “You think I don’t care?” Arman fires back. “You’re pushing me out of her life,” Abhira accuses. Aryan mutters, “Since Pookie came, he barely works with her.” Vidya steps in. “You’re protecting Pookie, but Abhira deserves respect too.” Arman crosses his arms. “I’m just being careful.”
Scene 3: A Wall Between Mother and Child
Arman searches the house. “Abhira? Pookie?” he calls. Abhira appears, but before they can speak, Kiara interrupts. “Can Pookie meet my aunt?” Arman stiffens. “Only if she follows my rules!” He barks at the aunt: “Wash your hands. No perfume. And—” He gestures to a thermometer. “Check your temperature!” The aunt gapes. The Poddars exchange horrified looks. “No one touches her!” Arman declares. Abhira’s hands clench. “You’re pushing me away,” she whispers. Later, Abhira finds a stranger rocking Pookie. “Who are you?!” The woman smiles. “Arman hired me to help.” Arman nods. “You’re busy. This is better.” Abhira stares, heartbroken.
