PVR INOX Revives Classics for Aamir Khan’s Birthday

PVR INOX is set to breathe new life into beloved films as part of a special celebration for Aamir Khan’s 60th birthday. The multiplex giant plans to re-release iconic titles such as Lagaan, Taare Zameen Par, Rang De Basanti, Dil Chahta Hai, and PK. Alongside these classics, the cinema chain will also showcase a variety of new releases and other re-releases throughout March, aiming to attract more moviegoers during a typically quieter month.

Exciting Film Lineup for March

This March, PVR INOX is rolling out an impressive lineup of films to entice audiences. In addition to the highly anticipated re-releases for Aamir Khan’s birthday, the chain will screen new titles like The Diplomat, Mickey 17, Snow White, and The Day The Earth Blew Up. Sanjeev Kumar Bijli, Executive Director of PVR INOX Ltd, confirmed that the Oscar film festival will continue, showcasing award-winning films. Although Anora will not be screened due to a lack of a censor certificate, other films such as The Brutalist and Wicked will be available for viewing. Bijli also highlighted that this month will feature several re-releases, including Queen, Fashion, and Highway, coinciding with International Womenโ€™s Day. The re-release strategy has proven successful, with films like Rockstar and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani drawing significant audiences. This success has led PVR INOX to establish a dedicated department for curating and managing re-releases, focusing primarily on Hindi and regional films.

Aamir Khan Film Festival Details

The Aamir Khan Film Festival is set to kick off on March 14, coinciding with the actor’s birthday. Bijli expressed excitement about showcasing 12 to 13 of Khan’s films, including the aforementioned classics. This festival not only celebrates Khan’s contributions to Indian cinema but also highlights the enduring popularity of his films. Bijli, who co-produced Taare Zameen Par and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, reflected on his long-standing relationship with Khan, praising him as a thought leader in the industry. Bijli noted that Khan’s films have consistently pushed boundaries in terms of content and marketing, making the festival a fitting tribute. The re-release of these films aims to rekindle nostalgia among audiences and introduce younger viewers to Khan’s cinematic legacy. The festival promises to be a significant event for fans and cinephiles alike.
