Xiaomi 15 Series Set for India Launch

Xiaomi has officially announced the launch of its highly anticipated Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra smartphones in India, scheduled for March 11 at 12 PM IST. This announcement comes shortly after the global unveiling of the 15 series ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona. The standard Xiaomi 15 model was first introduced in China last October, while the Xiaomi 15 Ultra made its debut on February 28, 2025.

In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Xiaomi India confirmed the launch date for the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra. The post featured images of both models, showcasing the Ultra in a striking Silver Chrome finish and the standard model in Bright Silver. The excitement surrounding the launch is palpable, as fans eagerly await the arrival of these flagship devices in the Indian market.

Xiaomi 15 Specifications: What to Expect

 

While Xiaomi has yet to confirm the specific features for the Indian versions of the Xiaomi 15, it is expected that they will mirror the specifications of the global variant. The global model boasts a 6.36-inch 8T LTPO AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, offering configurations of up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.

 

The Xiaomi 15 is equipped with a Leica-branded triple rear camera setup, featuring a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. For selfies and video calls, it includes a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. The device is supported by a robust 5,240mAh battery, which allows for 90W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. The Chinese variant operates on the Android 15-based HyperOS 2 system.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which launched in select global markets, features a larger 6.73-inch WQHD+ quad curved LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Like its standard counterpart, it is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, with options for up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.

 

This premium model is distinguished by its advanced quad rear camera system, also tuned by Leica. It includes a 50-megapixel primary camera with a 1-inch LYT-900 sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, a 50-megapixel Sony IMX858 telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 200-megapixel ISOCELL HP9 periscope telephoto camera offering 4.3x optical zoom. For front-facing photography, it features a 32-megapixel camera. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is powered by a 5,410mAh battery, supporting 90W wired fast charging and 80W wireless charging, and it boasts an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
