20th Atma Ram Memorial Lecture delivered by Dr N. Kalaiselvi, Secretary DSIR and Director General, CSIR as part of 73rd Foundation Day Celebration of CSIR-CGCRI

The One Week One Lab program by CSIR-Central Research Institute on Glass and Ceramics (CGCRI), Calcutta concluded with 73rd Celebration of the Institute’s Foundation Day on 26.08.2023. This occasion was marked with the 20th Atma Ram Memorial Lecture delivered by Dr. (Ms.) N. Kalaiselvi, Secretary of DSIR and Director General of CSIR, who was the keynote speaker. You spoke on “SDGs and S&T Opportunities,” where you touched on aligning CSIR themes with SDGs versus national mission agendas; the challenges in implementing them and the way forward to achieve the same. The program also included congratulations to staff members and divisions of the institution for their performance. Dr. SK Mishra, Director of CSIR-CGCRI, welcomed the attendees while Dr. Debashis Bhattacharjee, Vice President (Technology & R&D) of Tata Steel was present as guest of honor along with other dignitaries. Dr Kalaiselvi also opened the Atma Ram Memorial Museum & Archives to the public. The museum plans to retrace the technological evolution of ceramics in historical times; and the journey of the CSIR and of the CSIR-CGCRI since its inception.
