Interim payroll data from Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) reveals that 20.27 lakh new employees were added in the month of June 2023.
Approximately 24,298 new establishments were registered and brought under the Social Security umbrella of the State Employee Insurance Company in June 2023, thus ensuring greater coverage.
The data evidently reveals that more jobs have been generated for the nation’s youth as out of a total of 20.27 lakh employees added during the month of June 2023, 9.77 lakh employees up to the age group of 25 constitute the most of the new registrations which is 48.22% of the total employees.
Gender analysis of payroll data indicates that the net enrollment of female members was 3.87 lakh in June 2023. The data shows that a total of 71 transgender employees also registered under the scheme ESI in June 2023. It proves that ESIC is committed to providing its benefits to every section of society.
Payroll data is provisional as data generation is an ongoing exercise.
