Xiaomi Achieves Rs. 1.31 Lakh Crore Revenue in Q1 2025, Surpassing Expectations

Xiaomi has announced impressive financial results for the first quarter of 2025, reporting an unaudited consolidated revenue of Rs. 1.31 lakh crore for the January to March period. This achievement marks the second consecutive quarter that the tech giant has exceeded the Rs. 1.2 lakh crore threshold. Year-on-year, Xiaomi has experienced a remarkable growth of 47.4 percent, with an adjusted net profit reaching Rs. 12,680 crore, reflecting a significant increase of 64.5 percent compared to the previous year.

Xiaomi’s Premiumisation Strategy Drives Revenue Growth

In its recent press release, Xiaomi attributed its strong revenue performance to its premiumisation strategy. This approach focuses on transitioning its product lineup from budget-friendly options to higher-margin, premium devices. The company reported positive revenue growth across all business divisions in the first quarter of 2025. Notably, smartphone revenue increased by 8.9 percent year-on-year, totaling Rs. 59,961 crore. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra, launched in February, played a crucial role in this growth, achieving a remarkable 90 percent increase in sales compared to its predecessor during the same period last year. The average selling price (ASP) of smartphones also reached a record high of Rs. 14,372 in this quarter.

Additionally, Xiaomi’s Internet-of-Things (IoT) and smart home devices saw a substantial growth of 58.7 percent year-on-year, generating Rs. 38,276 crore in revenue. Key products in this category included washing machines and refrigerators. The company’s ventures into Electric Vehicles (EVs), artificial intelligence (AI), and other new initiatives contributed Rs. 22,041 crore in revenue, with the Xiaomi SU7 Series vehicles achieving a total shipment of 75,869 units.

Continued Growth in Smartphone Shipments

Xiaomi reported global smartphone shipments of 4.18 crore units in the first quarter, marking seven consecutive quarters of year-on-year growth. According to data from Canalys, the company maintained its position among the top three smartphone brands for the nineteenth consecutive quarter, holding a market share of 14.1 percent. This consistent performance underscores Xiaomi’s strong presence in the competitive smartphone market.

In the IoT and smart home segment, Xiaomi’s air conditioner shipments exceeded 11 lakh units, reflecting a significant 65 percent year-on-year growth. The company also reported shipments of 8.8 lakh units for refrigerators and 7.4 lakh units for washing machines. These figures highlight the increasing demand for Xiaomi’s smart home products and the effectiveness of its marketing strategies.

Growth in AIoT and Tablet Segments

Xiaomi’s global tablet shipments experienced a notable increase of 56.1 percent year-on-year, although specific shipment numbers were not disclosed. The company’s AIoT platform has also seen substantial growth, with the number of users connecting five or more devices (excluding smartphones, tablets, and laptops) reaching 1.93 crore, representing a 26.5 percent year-on-year increase.

Moreover, the monthly active users of Xiaomi’s Mi Home App and AI Assistant have grown to 10.64 crore and 14.67 crore, respectively, marking increases of 19.5 percent and 17.5 percent year-on-year. These figures indicate a growing ecosystem of connected devices and services, further solidifying Xiaomi’s position in the technology market.
