Wholesale price of Tomato decreases after Government intervention

There was a drop in the wholesale prices of tomatoes due to government intervention to sell them at a subsidized price of 90 rupees per kg, in several places in the country where prices were exceptionally high.

After a re-evaluation of the situation at over 500 outlets across the country, it was decided to sell it at eighty rupees (80) per kg from today Sunday 16th July 2023. The sales started today at several outlets each in Delhi, NOIDA, Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Patna, Muzaffarpur and Arrah through NAFED and NCCF. It will be rolled out to more cities from tomorrow depending on the prevailing market prices in those locations.

The Government of India is committed to providing relief to consumers.
