WAVES Launches Global Battle of Bands
The World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) is set to elevate the music scene with its new initiative, the Battle of Bands Global. The inaugural WAVES summit is designed as a hub for the Media and Entertainment (M&E) sector, aiming to connect global industry leaders with Indian talent. The summit will focus on four key pillars: Broadcasting & Infotainment, AVGC-XR, Digital Media & Innovation, and Films. By bringing together creators, technologists, and industry leaders, WAVES seeks to highlight the future of India’s entertainment landscape. The Battle of Bands Global serves as the first pillar of this initiative, emphasizing the importance of music in fostering community and innovation.
Eligibility and Participation Guidelines
To participate in the Battle of Bands Global, bands must consist of a maximum of five members, including a vocalist. Each band is required to submit an original audio-visual performance that showcases their unique music, which must not include any existing songs or compositions. Submissions can be made through the official Doordarshan website, ensuring a fair and transparent selection process. This initiative not only encourages creativity but also provides a platform for emerging artists to gain recognition on a global stage.
Competition Format and Broadcast Details
The competition will feature a thorough selection process, culminating in the participation of the top 13 international bands. These bands will compete in a series of performances broadcasted from March 15 to March 20, 2025. The event will conclude before April 30, 2025, with the top five bands being selected based on their performances. This format aims to create an engaging experience for both participants and audiences, showcasing the best of global and Indian music.
