VISIT OF RTN DELEGATION TO WARSHIP DESIGN BUREAU (WDB)

A three-member delegation from the Royal Thai Navy visited the Warship Design Bureau (WDB), Indian Navy on 4 – 05 September 23 in New Delhi. The visit was aimed at increasing cooperation between the two Navies in naval design and construction as decided bilaterally during the 12thth IN-RTN staff speaks. The delegation accompanied by Captain Jakarin, RTN, Defense Attache, interacted with RAdm IB Uthaiah, Director General WDB, discussing various aspects of the design and construction of the vessel.

The delegation was given an overview of the Warship Design Bureau and was shown the evolution of indigenous shipbuilding in India. Various facilities, design tools, best practices adopted, model testing capabilities and the indigenous equipment manufacturing ecosystem within the country were also showcased. The delegation discussed various aspects of ship design and construction with subject matter experts at the Warship Design Bureau. A delegation visit to Goa Shipyard Limited is also planned, to observe the various construction technologies of the shipyard.
